Little Christmas Uglies

The Wilson family has a wonderful tradition of making homemade gifts for Christmas. For the most part it has evolved into gag gifts of one sort or another. This year we decided to do the homemade route when I made some ugly doll knock-offs. A friend had made one for her son (thanks, Hillary!) and inspired me to make one for Luke. The brown one is his. It turned out so cute, I just HAD to make more so we made them for Ryan's sister, Amber, and her family.
They're made of fleece and oh-so-soft and cuddly. The great part about making them is that, even if you mess up and something is uneven or not-quite-perfect, it's okay because they're ugly dolls. They're not supposed to be perfect.

A favorite, somewhat crude, detail: the little kitty behind.

Super cute. Skills.

p.s. no offense taken about living in Utah. We'd move to phoenix in a heartbeat.

Yes, we absolutely love the ugly monsters. Evie sleeps with all four of them at night. We've cut back on her bad dreams since she all ready has four little monsters in her bed. They're the best!
