Blackout

Last night amidst falling snow and temperatures our power flashed off and on about 4 times before it finally went out for good. We were right in the middle of making dinner (quesadillas) so we had to change our plans. We ate the already-made guacamole with some chips and supplemented with some bowls of Coco Puffs. Delicious. It takes a blackout to remind you about preparedness (or the lack thereof). Thankfully, we have lots of candles and flashlights (with working batteries-miracle!) on hand. We made the best of it and hoped it would not be a long-term outage with the cold temps and no real fireplace (We have a gas one that you must have electricity to start and maintain-lame!)

Darling Mia had to pose for a shot as usual.

A rousing game of "Guess Who" by candlelight/flashlight. There's something about candlelight that makes everything more magical. It was a fun adventure for about an hour and a half until the power was restored and we promptly tucked the kids in bed.
