When life gives you a week of rain...

...you follow Noah's lead and make some boats to sail in your new river. Last week we were trying to find the silver lining to all the rain we received. When we saw the rushing river that materialized in our neighborhood, we knew we had to make some boats and launch them. Since none of our building supplies were "eco-friendly" Grandpa had the idea to attach a long kite-like string to each of them so we could retrieve them when we were finished. The kids did not disappoint. They used an old pool noodle, some wood, paint and some hot glue and went to town. They had a great time. We took advantage of a rain-free moment to see how the boats held up. They did amazingly well and, most importantly, the kids had a great time.
