The most important thing we do on Sunday is go to church, of course, as a family. It's especially nice now that Ryan sits with us again. I have to admit it's a little bit humorous to me when I return from feeding Claire to see Ryan's eyes filled with exhaustion after dealing with the other four on his own for a spell. Feel my pain, buddy. Been there, done that.

But there are those remaining hours of the day that we try to keep ourselves busy from doing the things that are not appropriate for the Sabbath. Honestly, it is the one day of the week that, as parents, we require a mandatory "quiet time". The rules for the parents are: if you want to sleep, you are in charge of getting a little one to nap. Ryan usually takes Luke and I take Claire. The older three know they don't have to nap as long as they can find a quiet activity that does not involve fighting. That can be hard to do sometimes.
Today was such an unusually warm and beautiful day for November we voted (and Ryan lost) to forgo naps in lieu of a family game of Bocce ball in the backyard. The four oldest family members played while the younger three spectated and played on the swing set. There were times when we had to take a closer examination to see who had really won the round. Addy and Halle gave Ryan a run for his money but he won out in the end. Sadly, I had to forfeit to go feed the little one (I was losing miserably anyway). The main point is that fun was had by all.
Sometimes we have a hard time deciding which activities are appropriate for Sunday. If you have any great ideas, suggestions or opinions, we would LOVE to hear them...

We do lots of lego and fort building at our house. Your Sundays look very similar to ours!
