Bikers, Mallows and Conference

We were lucky enough to have the fantastic Toland family from Kansas travel down to visit us for the weekend. It reminded us how blessed we are to have such great friends. They were only here for a quick weekend but we had a great time with them.

Saturday afternoon we took the big kids down to Fayetteville to the Biker, blues and barbeque festival. It was fascinating to see all the different types of bikes (and bikers). It was a great people-watching crowd. And I satisfied my funnel cake fix, which we all know is very important. Ryan and I decided we might need to go again next year dressed up to fit in with the crowd.

Bikes and bikers everywhere--as far as the eye can see. This picture doesn't really do it justice

Later that night we enjoyed a perfect crisp fall night around the fire pit roasting marshmallows while the dads attended the Priesthood session of General Conference.

Mia and Piper getting ready to roast some marshmallows. These two were pretty much inseparable over the weekend.

Claire roasting her very own marshmallow (seconds after this picture was taken her mallow caught fire and I had to dive around the table to retrieve it from her)

Addy and Caulder getting ready for s'mores

We wrapped up the weekend on Sunday with a relaxing day just snacking and watching General Conference. A little Conference bingo and coloring kept the kids pretty quiet and entertained. Halle was going for blackout bingo and was a little frustrated no one talked about tithing or mentioned a bishop in the morning so she came up short. I think she won the prize for being so dedicated to listening instead of just eating all her candy.

Thanks, Tolands, for driving down and spending the weekend with us. We feel the love. :)

Cute pics! My kids did the Conference Bingo game too and got a bit frustrated 'cause they couldn't fill it up fast enough :) Oh well, it least it kept them focused for one session.
